About Us

The Kunming international Philharmonic — a performing art organization based in Kunming city, Yunnan province, China — consists of Symphony orchestra, Vocal ensemble and Ballet troupe. The Kunming International Philharmonic was founded in 2017 by Duan Yong Xin, president of the Kunming College of the Arts.

The artists have been selected by an international professional jury through auditions held in Asia and Europe. This most unique project brings together musicians and dancers from all over the world: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Mongolia, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan.

The KIPhil performs and promotes wide-ranging repertoire, both classical masterpieces and new compositions from emerging composers, western music and music from China and especially from Yunnan province in celebration of the region’s cultural diversity. We enrich the community through professional performances, art development and educational programs. Every effort is made to make the art accessible to a greater audience and to share knowledge and passion for the music and dance.

The KIPhil upholds the principle that culture can unite people of all nationalities and backgrounds, bringing about positive changes in society. Our experience is a compelling example of using art as a powerful medium for cooperation and integration across borders.
